Mister High Has always liked playing with sonority and with this EP he orients himself towards IDM and downtempo music. For a change the producer worked with a guitarist friend in order to use new kinds of harmony and melodic lines, and also allowing him to focus more on bass and drum lines.
The first track, "Awakeness Unit", invites the listener to dive in a sweet mental state. As a followup, "Lucid Dream Unit" is a long and energetic melodic build-up. For the last two tracks, Mister High is purely relying on the recorded guitar samples, giving up on pianos and synths. As a result, cool sound textures where energetic drum lines and powerful yet detailed bass lines merge together.
